Membership sites provide a steady income on a monthly basis, while providing continuous content to those looking for updated information.
Another word that is being used with memberships is "continuity" programs which is popular when content creators sell an initial product, than get their "paid" buyers to join a monthly membership for more detailed and on-going information based on the initial product that they bought.
Of course, one of the hurdles of having a membership site, is that you must update your content more frequently than if you had a site that wasn’t charging a monthly fee.
I would assume right off the bat that since content needs to be updated, that you know something about the topic at hand. If you don’t, you can obviously outsource this task to others who know how, but you’ll incur more expenses.

2. weight loss – there basically is no recession for this market as many people are interested in losing weight regardless if we are in a recession or not.
3. skin care – again, another on-going topics for women as they seem to continually buy up products concerning wrinkles and keeping their face as youthful as possible.
4. golf – another topic which can cover many numerous topics within the game of golf itself. possibilities are endless for a topic like this one.
5. software how to’s – with new versions and different features coming out with those newer versions, this can be a lucrative area for people that have the know how to have a membership site on this topic.
6. marketing online or offline – as many of you notice, there are ton’s of these sites that exist already, but new topics within marketing continue to arise. social marketing, video marketing, article marketing and so on. everyone has their own take and their own technqiues to market their businesses online or offline.
